This past Wednesday night, field hockey plaer Hannah Kingsbury (12) and swimmer Elizabeth House (12) committed to playing their perspective sport at the college level.
Hannah Kingsbury: I previously talked about Hannah’s recruitment earlier this year, and that can be found here. After taking an official visit to Ohio University this past weekend, Kingsbury gave the coach her word on Wednesday night. “I’m going there for the education, and being able to continue a sport that I love is a huge benefit,” Kingsbury said. She is in CMA and plans to study journalism at Ohio. Kingsbury said she loved the girls on the team and felt comfortable. She also looks forward to the match-up against Miami (OH) next year because she will take on fellow Manual teammate Kelsi White who is committed to play at Miami (OH).
Elizabeth House: House also committed this past Wednesday night. She will be swimming for Notre Dame next year. House recently visited Notre Dame on an official visit and fell in love with the campus and the swimming team. “The coach called me and I told him that I decided that Notre Dame is the school for me,” House said. She added that Notre Dame has a perfect balance between academics and athletics. I think it will be so exciting for House to compete at such a high level for such a well known school. That is something some kids can only dream about.
